RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Farm Bureau says the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is down this year compared to 2014.

The bureau said Thursday a traditional meal for 10 adults with turkey and all the trimmings should cost $44.52, compared to $42.59 last year.

The price also includes dressing, sweet potatoes, rolls, peas, cranberries, a tray of carrots and celery, milk, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

Prices vary depending on the location.

The bureau says the highest average cost was in Powhatan County, where dinner for 10 is $59.83. Carroll County has the cheapest eats at $31.61.

Based on surveys of grocery stores throughout Virginia, the bureau says the average cost of a 16-pound turkey was $18.86, or $1.18 per pound. Last year's per-pound cost for a turkey was $1.37.
