A Major Music Festival May Be Coming to Ocean City Next Year

An entertainment group will get a second chance next year to pull off a high-profile music festival on the beach.

Founders Entertainment garnered a unanimous Town Council nod giving Tom Russell approval to hold the festival on June 1-2 pending cost approval and acquisition and approval of performers.

The festival was initially slated for June 2-3 of this year, but the timetable proved to be too ambitious for Russell and the company to lock in the type of talent they were hoping for.

Floating names like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mumford & Sons and Florence + The Machine, the group was unable to book the artists until council approved them post beach stand negotiations.

The group has already received positive responses from booking agents and artist managers regarding a 2013 event.
