Wicomico County is looking at banning the mass release of balloons.
It heard supporters of the idea by County Executive Bob Culver at yesterday’s council work session.
WBOC reports that the ban would be similar to one that is in effect in Queen Anne’s County.
That county approved the measure back in August.
Supporters told the council that it would protect wild life and note that they are not biodegradable.
The television station reports that council member wanted to clarify some wording in the measure and it expected to vote on it in the coming weeks.
