University of Maryland Eastern Shore

26-year old Maximino Melendez has been detained by the security at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on August 20th for a bomb threat against a campus construction site in July.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that UMES police found out Melendez worked on the construction site as a laborer.

He was provided by the Salisbury office of Labor Ready a temporary employment agency.

On July 6th a bomb threat was called in to the Somerset County emergency services claiming there was an explosive device near or on the UMES campus.

The campus was evacuated along with the surrounding area.

The Daily Times reports that campus security said they used electronic tracking data to get a warrant that led to his identity.
