Calm returned for a second night in Baltimore with a 10 p.m. curfew that saw protesters move off the streets of the city.
Some wore T-shirts that read "Black Lives Matter" and demanded accountability from authorities in the death of 25-year old Freddie Gray after he suffered severe spinal injuries while in police custody.
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Orioles played took on the Chicago White Sox in Camden Yards without any fans in the stands.
The baseball club said it did so for safety reasons.
The O's beat the Sox 8-2.
In New York there were more than 100 arrests during a rally called "NYC Rise Up & Shut It down With Baltimore".
Demonstrations are also planned for Cincinnati and Philadelphia.
Salisbury Protest
Here in Salisbury around a hundred protesters showed up in the downtown area with more than a dozen participating in a die-in in an effort to express concern about the deaths of black men at the hands of the police.
The two hour event comes on the heels of the protest in Baltimore over the death of Gray.
The demonstrators pledged to work with the city police and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s office the improve relations with the community.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports Police Chief Barbara Duncan did not address the gathering but did speak with individuals about efforts to reach out to the community.
The paper reports that about half of the protesters were white with some students from Salisbury University.
