Another Republican Jumps into MD Delegate Race in Dorchester

classroomclipart.com

Church Creek Commissioner Karen Tolley has decided to add her name to those vying for the mid-Eastern Shore’s 37B district in the Maryland House of Delegates.

She entered a crowded primary race in June after incumbent Delegates Addie Eckardt and Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio decided to seek higher office.

The 43-year old Tolley is finance director for the state’s Department of General Services and served a four year term in the mid-2000’s on the Republican Central Committee.

She says she want to emphasize protecting the watermen and farmers of the district as well as encouraging economic growth.

It’s the first time since 1998 that the district has not had an incumbent and it covers Dorchester and Talbot counties.
