Reducing Racial Disparities in Maternal Health

African American women are 2-and-half times more likely than white women to die during pregnancy, delivery or following pregnancy. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association is developing a new initiative to reduce the disparities in maternal health by as much as 50 percent in the next five years.
