Delaware state officials have found two more wells near Dover Air Force Base to be contaminated with dangerous chemicals.
Environmental official issued a lifetime health advisory to the public that the levels of PFOS and PFOA were higher than the EPA’s 70 parts per trillion safety standard.
The Delaware News Journalreports state officials first discovered the contaminants in 2014 that were connected to the historical use of firefighting foam.
The chemicals have been found in drinking water in the New Castle area as well as the town of Blades in Sussex County.
They have also been discovered at military bases, airports and industrial sites around the nation.
