Senator Chris Coons: Not Yet to Removal in Impeachment Proceeeding

Senator Chris Coons says he backs the impeach inquiry against President Trump but he is not willing to go beyond that.

The Delaware Democrat said it would be inappropriate for senators who will judge the president.

Coons told the Wilmington News Journal that he wants to see the full transcript of the call between Trump and the Ukrainian president.

In that exchange the president appears to put hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid contengent on an investigation of Joe Biden and his son.

The Democrat said he has had virtually no conversations with his Republican colleagues about impeachment.

He told the News Journal that when he brings it up they simply change the subject.

But, Coons did say he is concerned about the president's "jarring" behavior.

Meanbwhile, Delaware's lone Democratic Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester says she supports the impeach inquiry.
