Fire Destroys Cottage at Hyatt Regency in Cambridge

A fire destroyed a 14-hundred square foot cottage at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge early yesterday morning.

Joel Bunde general manager of the hotel told the Salisbury Daily Times that guests and employees were immediately evacuated from the hotel complex.

Bunde said that there was some damage to a small number of vehicles parked near the structure but there were no injuries.

The blaze was put out by the Neck District Volunteer Fire Company in Cambridge which released photos of the building fully ablaze.

The Hyatt Regency itself covers some 37-thousand square feet of indoor space with another 85-thousand square feet outdoors.
