Bill to Eliminate Automatic Driver's License Suspension Over Lack of Insurance

If you are caught by police driving in Delaware without insurance or proof of insurance you won’t necessarily get your license automatically suspended.

At least, that’s under a new measure approved by the Delaware legislature.

WBOC reports that the legislation’s sponsor State Representative Bill Carson said the bill would allow people to not lose their job by losing their legal ability to drive.

The state Department of Motor Vehicles could still suspend the license based on the offense but it would give driver the chance to straighten out any problems before then.
