State Grant to Shore Up Deal Island

Deal Island is getting $70-thousand to help deal with the effects of shore erosion.

WBOC reports it is part of the Maryland Coastal Resiliency Grant for design and permit approvals to be submitted to the state next month.

The initial designs have already been drawn up but have not yet been provided to the public.

Coastal Planner for the Chesapeake and Coastal Service says the plan will replace sand dunes and land mass lost to erosion.
