Lisa Nicholson McKinnon at Parkside High School has won Teacher of the Year in Wicomico County.
Nicholson told the Salisbury Daily Times before receiving the award that winning would be “the most amazing thing that could ever happen” to her career.
She noted that she went to school in Wicomico County all the way through graduation.
Nicholson told the paper she wanted to teach her students that teaching was really all about building better relationships and making meaningful connections.
Nicholson has taught mathematics at Parkside since 2006.
