Immigration Officials Show Up in Georgetown

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been seen this week in Georgetown.

That’s the word from local police.

The Wilmington News Journal reports it is not clear why the federal officials were there.

An official statement from ICE said that it had conducted targeted enforcement action on January 30th and that one person had been arrested.

Local police generally do not work with immigration officials unless the person has committed a serious crime.
