The court battle over the winner of the White Marlin Tournament in Ocean City has gotten underway.
It was last August when Phil Heasley caught a 75.6 pound white marlin and was eligible for a $2.8 million prize.
But tournament officials decided against declaring him the winner after a post-tournament lie detector test.
The tournament officials said they withheld the prize and asked the courts to decide who won.
WBOC reports that Heasley wanted the results of the lie detector test thrown out but the federal judge disagreed saying he would allow them at what is expected to be a four day trial.
