$370-thousand has been raised in donations for the family of Cpt. Stephen Ballard who was shot and killed by a suspect near a convenience store.
The memorial fund was started by the Delaware State Troopers Association which raised $270-thousand from Delawareans.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that another $100-thosuand was donated by Wawa.
The shooting took place near one of its convenience stores.
Meanwhile a Dedication and Valor Softball Tournament will be held on May 20 and 21st to honor Ballard and Lt. Steven Floyd who was killed during an inmate uprising at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.
