The federal government has told Wesley College in Dover that it violated the rights of a student who had been accused of sexual misconduct.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that a settlement requires the institution to make the process fairer for those who have been accused.
The issue arose after a student was accused of setting up a live stream of a senior having sex with a female student without her knowledge.
But the paper reports that the mother of the student filed a complaint saying that her son did not participate in the streaming.
In addition, she said, the college failed to carry out a proper investigation.
The U.S. Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights has also called for the school to re-investigate certain cases that reach back three years.
