Come this Saturday if you’re convicted of driving under the influence in Maryland you will be required to install an interlock device on your vehicle.
It’s known as Noah’s Law named after Montgomery County Police Officer Noah Leotta who was killed after he stopped a driver suspected of being impaired.
The law is designed to cut down on the number of crashes caused impaired drivers.
The interlock devices use a standard breathalyzer before a driver can turn on his vehicle.
WBOC reports that state officials say one third of all deaths on the state roadways is caused by impaired drivers.
