Police said in a news release that the plane was conducting a high-speed taxi on the runway at Stafford Regional Airport on Monday evening when the aircraft unintentionally lifted off the runway. Police say the pilot, 62-year-old Roberta Boucher of Fredericksburg, was taken to Mary Washington Hospital with serious injuries that were not life-threatening.
