Teen in Joyner-Francis Death Could be Tried as Adult

One of the teenagers allegedly involved in the death of Amy Joyner-Francis in a restroom at Howard High School of Technology could be tried as an adult.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Trinity Carr will appear in court in July to make a decision.

The paper reports that the 16 year-old showed up briefly with her attorney in the New Castle County Courthouse yesterday although she did not appear before a judge.

Last week the prosecution asked that Carr’s case be shifted to Superior Court from Family Court.

The Family court judge will hold a hearing on the issue July 11th.

Carr is facing a felony of criminally negligent homicide.

Two other teenagers Zion Snow and Chakeira Wright have been charged with criminal conspiracy in the assault that took place on April 21st.
