BALTIMORE (AP) - Six men arrested during the unrest prompted by Freddie Gray's death in police custody have sued the Baltimore Police Department over alleged abuse at the hands of officers.
The suit was filed Tuesday against roughly two dozen police officers, as well as the state of Maryland and former police chief Anthony Batts.
The suit alleges that the plaintiffs, who say they were wrongly arrested and manhandled, one man so severely his arm was broken, were acquitted, never charged or had their charges dropped.
Representatives for both the Office of the Attorney General and the Baltimore Police Department declined to comment pending litigation.
