JOPPA, Md. (AP) - A funeral is set for one of two Harford County Sheriff's deputies fatally shot in the line of duty earlier this month.
Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey, a 30-year veteran of the department and a volunteer firefighter, was shot and killed on Feb. 10 while responding to a complaint at Panera Bread in Abingdon. Another deputy, Mark Logsdon, was also slain before deputies fatally shot the gunman, 68-year-old David Evans.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain Christian Church in Joppa.
Dailey's children, Bryan and Tyler, released a statement Saturday calling their father a hero "just for being our dad."
