Maryland Marks Annual Domestic Violence Memorial

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence is holding its 27th annual domestic violence memorial service.

It's scheduled for Monday night in Annapolis.

The group says 54 people died in Maryland between July 2013 and June 2014 as a result of domestic violence.

The group holds the memorial service to raise awareness about domestic violence. It also focuses attention on changing laws to reduce domestic violence, improve victim safety and create greater accountability for abusers.
