A home constructed in 1694 on Taylors Island in Dorchester County has been destroyed by a fire.
It occurred at around 10 a.m. yesterday when a blaze broke out on the upper levels of the home on Bay Shore Road.
There was no one inside.
Fire officials told WBOC it took six hours to put out the fire and that it was difficult to get water because there were no fire hydrants nearby.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Dorchester County authorities.
