The traffic in Dover as the Firefly Music Festival gets underway was not as bad as it was last year.
The Delaware Department of Transportation and festival organizers made a number changes from last year including a longer festival to spread out the arrival times of attendees.
Greg Bostrom, director of the festival told WBOC that for the most part the festival kept traffic off of U.S. Route 13.
Nonetheless even though Thursday went well Delaware officials expect the worst to come on today.
So, motorists should brace for more delays and congestion than yesterday.
Governor
Among the 80-thousand expected to attend the festival is Governor Jack Markell and his wife who bought four day passes for the event.
The governor told the Wilmington News Journal that it would be a learning experience given the narrowness of his musical tastes.
Yesterday afternoon Andrew Belle took the stage kicking off the four day festival.
