Registering to Vote Could Become Easier in Delaware

It could become a bit easier to vote in the state of Delaware.

A measure to allow Delawareans to register to vote when they arrive at the polls on Election Day got the approval of a Senate legislative panel in Dover.

It now goes to the state Senate.

The legislation got House approval last month by a vote of 24-to-15.

Right now, after the fourth Saturday before the election Delaware residents cannot register to vote.

Under the measure voters will be able to register with a valid government issued identification or other accept proof of ID.

If the bill becomes law it would go into effect just before the November general election.me
