Federal Funding to Clear Backlog of DNA Testing in Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware's congressional delegation is announcing federal funding that will help reduce a backlog of DNA testing in the state medical examiner's office.

Officials planned to gather at the medical examiner's office in Wilmington on Thursday to discuss details of the federal funding for the state Department of Health and Social Services.

Officials say the money will help the medical examiner's office streamline and expedite its processing of DNA evidence in criminal cases.
