Three former female employees of the Liquor Control Board have settled their lawsuit with Worcester County for $60-thousand under a consent decree.
The lawsuit claimed that the county violated the federal equal pay law.
County Attorney Sonny Bloxom told the Salisbury Daily Times that he was satisfied with the outcome.
And County officials got praise from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for their cooperation in settling the suit out of court.
In the suit Donna Smith, Kylesha Connor and Sharee Dale claimed that the now defunct Worcester County Liquor Control Board paid them lower wages than their male colleagues for the same work.
