A proposed chicken plant at the former Vlasic Picket factory has some Millsboro residents upset about the potential environmental effects.
Cindy Wilton, a member of the group “Protecting Our Indian River”, says the plant should be torn down and left as a resource as part of the bay.
Harim Allen, a South Korean poultry producer, is waiting for a decision by the Sussex County Board of Adjustment for a special zoning request.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the facility must be zoned for potentially hazardous use which includes dust, odor and noise.
The issue not yet on the agenda for the Adjustment Board’s August 19th meeting.
