The 40th annual White Marlin Open has a new leader on its third day with Tommy Jones of Severna, Maryland bringing in an 83-pounder to climb to the top of the leader board.
He edged out Debbie McCann and Larry McKinley who had been tied at 77-pounds for the lead earlier in the day for the estimated $980-thousand top prize.
Jones told the Salisbury Daily Times that he knew he had a contender in the high 70’s but said he was extremely excited when the scales showed them coming in above 80 pounds.
