Delaware and Peru Talk Trade

Governor Jack Markell met with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala yesterday in Washington and signed an agreement for discussions on trade.

This includes agricultural exports from the South American Nation and the Delaware seaport for perishables.

The Port of Wilmington is the largest banana port in the Western Hemisphere and has been handling Peruvian grapes since 2008.

State officials say that the facility is well placed to share information and technical expertise with ports and agricultural exporters.
