Dewey Beach Officials Hopeful for Settlement With Jeremiah's Beach Party

DEWEY BEACH, Del. (WBOC)  - Town officials in Dewey Beach are optimistic they will reach a settlement in a lawsuit filed against the town by a local shop owner.

The owner of Jeremiah's Beach Party, a beach merchandise store on Route 1, filed a lawsuit against the town of Dewey Beach after receiving ticket violations for covering the storefront with too much merchandise.

Town Manager Marc Appelbaum says he is hopeful a deal between the owner of Jeremiah's and the town will be reached.

Applebaum told WBOC There is a willingness and desire to settle," said Appelbaum.

WBOC contacted the owner of Jeremiah's, who declined comment at the request of his attorney.
