The president of the University of Delaware has dropped to 14th in the nation when it comes to compensation.
That’s the ranking he received by a 2011-2012 survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education
UD President Patrick Harker earns just over o$735-thousand a year.
Last year, his compensation package was nearly $700-thousand a year.
In 2010 it was at $810-thousand.
The UD board of trustees sets his salary.
Gil Sparks, a spokesman for the Board’s Chairman, had high praise for Harker but did not comment on his pay rate.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that Sparks pointed to Harker’s role in developing new research and academic and economic partnerships as well as increasing enrollment and attracting faculty.
