A Day of Reflection for UMES Students

The mood was somber, the students quiet.

Yesterday, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore held a morning vigil for the deaths of two of their own.

21-year old Edmond St. Clair was stabbed to death in a Saturday night altercation.

Known as Trini, one student said, he was known as a happy-go-lucky person who always had a smile.

Meanwhile, a former student 26-year old Dickson Muiruri died of an apparent self-inflict gunshot wound.

Classes were cancelled yesterday for a day of reflection.

There were many who spoke of the loss and cards were signed for the victim’s families.

At the bottom of the next hour…we hear some of the voices of the students…as they prepared to return to classes today.
