Delaware and Maryland Schools Get Delmarva Power Grants

Sixteen schools in Maryland and Delaware will receive energy related mini-grants.

A total of $10-thousand in grants was awarded to teachers during a ceremony last night in recognition of proposed projects that involve energy and the environment.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports a total of 22 grants will be handed out with the winners receiving up to $500.

John Allen, Delmarva Power regional vice president, praised the teachers for providing new academic challenges for their students.

Over the past 23 years Delmarva Power has awarded schools more than $227-thousand in grants.
