MD Voters Decide on Same-Sex Marriage

Maryland could become the first state to legalize same-sex marriage through the ballot box. Other states that have legalized these unions have done so either through the courts or the state legislature. However, the vote is expected to close with public opinion polls show the public evenly divided.
