LEWIS, Del. (AP) -- The resort town of Lewes will soon be home to a children's teaching garden.

Warren Golde, co-chair of the Lewes in Bloom organization, tell the Daily times of Salisbury that he hopes the 40-by-32 foot garden will be open in the spring or summer.

The group aims to use the garden to pique children's curiosity about nature and teach them about how fruits, vegetables and flowers are grown.

Golde says the estimated cost of the garden is $12,000 to $15,000, but will be created at no additional cost to the city which make an annual $10,000 donation to the organization. Funding will be provided by donations and grants.
