CSX Train Derailment

A CSX train hauling coal derailed and fell from a bridge in Ellicott City outside Baltimore.

It killed two young women and crushed vehicles parked below.

Twenty-one of the train’s 80 cars went over around mid-night and fell into a nearby county-owned lot.

The two people killed were not railroad employees and were on the rail bridge at the time of the accident.

Their identities have been withheld.

The two train operators were not injured.
