Special Session On Gambling Expansion Expected From MD Governor

ANNAPOLIS, Md  (AP) House Speaker Michael Busch says he believes Governor Martin O’Malley has decided to go ahead with a special legislative session to expand gambling in Maryland.

O’Malley held a meeting with House Democrats to get them up to speed for announcement.

Busch says that he believes the Governor thinks the votes are there for legislative approval.

The session would look at adding a 6th casino site in Prince George’s County and adding table games such as blackjack.

The clock is ticking with an August 20th deadline to get the ballot language ready for the November election.
