Maryland legislators are gearing up to take a close look at a state court ruling that says Pit bulls are inherently dangerous.
Senate President Mike Miller and House Speaker Michael Busch announced that they were forming a 10-member taskforce to examine the issue.
Miller said that the decision would have profound effects on dogs, dog owners, tenants and property owners.
The high court’s ruling last month means that in a dog attack by a Pit bull plaintiff’s seeking damages do not have to prove the animal’s prior violent behavior for the owner to be liable for damages.
