EASTON, Md. (AP) - Easton's curbside recycling program is set to begin July 1.
The Town Council unanimously voted this week to accept a $1.5 million, five-year bid for biweekly pickup. The program will include businesses that are already served by the town's trash service.
The Star Democrat of Easton (http://bit.ly/IJ2jMT) reported that the single-stream program will not require sorting and will collect recyclables including plastic, aluminum, cardboard, newspapers and paper from one container. Residents will be given a 65-gallon can with some 95-gallon containers available for larger households.
BFI Waste will also have four satellite recycling locations for those who want to drop off recyclable materials.
