It won’t be until Wednesday morning before the launch of five NASA sounding rockets from Wallops flight facility.
The countdown is set begin at 7 pm tonight.
The launch was delayed in recent days because of possible bad weather.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the multiple launches will allow scientists to study winds at the edge of space around 60 miles above the Earth’s surface.
The mission is called the Anomalous Transport Rocket Experiment .
It will release chemical trails by the rockets that should be visible for up to 20 minutes around the Eastern Shore and beyond for a distance of 250 miles around Wallops.
