Peter Solomon

After attending Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, Anthony Wonsey emerged in the early nineties as one of the most adept young pianists on the American jazz scene.  Now in his late forties, Wonsey has worked with a who’s who of modern jazz including Kenny Garrett, Nicholas Payton, Elvin Jones and Roy Hargrove.

Harriet Tubman has become a national symbol of the Underground Railroad which funnelled many slaves out of the South before the Civil War. Dr. Kate Clifford Larson is author of Bounded for the Promised Land: Portrait of an American Hero." Delmarva Public Media's Peter Solomon talked with her about what we know about her life and some of the misconceptions about her efforts.

Dr. Larson will be the keynote speaker at the annual Beach to Bay Heritage Area conference on Oct. 28th at the Henson Center on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
